Technical Difficulties

So I got a FABULOUS Nikon D40 for my birthday and I've already taken some great (and some not-so-great but that's what we all love about digital, right?) photos of the boys. The only problem is... I can't figure out how to upload them to the computer.

I stick the card in the little slot just like I stuck the memory stick from our old digital camera (and I do know it's a different slot!) but nothing happens. I can't find my photos! As soon as I do, I'll get some posted I promise.
